Excellent Corrosion Resistance · High Strength & Durability · Good Weldability & Fabrication Properties · Global Industrial Supply
304/304L stainless steel plates are austenitic stainless steels widely used for their excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and versatility. Grade 304 contains standard carbon levels, while 304L has lower carbon content, making it ideal for welding applications as it reduces carbide precipitation. These plates are widely used across industries due to their resistance to oxidation, ease of fabrication, and excellent mechanical properties.
These plates form a passive chromium oxide layer on their surface when exposed to oxygen, preventing further oxidation and corrosion. The low carbon content in 304L reduces the risk of sensitization during welding, preventing corrosion along grain boundaries.
Key alloying elements that contribute to the high-performance austenitic structure of 304/304L grades.
